La Joya HS National Honor Society Flapjack Fundraiser Event
You are invited to join La Joya HS National Honor Society for a Flapjack Fundraiser event! Simply contact the event organizer to purchase your tickets and come to the Applebee’s on the event date listed below for a delicious pancake breakfast that consists of 3 pancakes (all-you-can-eat!), 2 slices of bacon & your choice of beverage (coffee, soda, tea, orange juice or milk). Now that’s what we call short stacks for a TALL cause!

We will be using these funds to support our annual "Helping Hands of Hope" service project. Our entire school participates in this project and we hope it teaches students to be empathetic towards people that are less fortunate. With our community involvement staff, up to 50 families are selected from our school zone. Each family fills out a form with sizes for clothes, ages of children and special needs of the family. Every family is adopted by 3 classrooms during 2nd period. They bring in clothes, shoes, canned goods, even building supplies and furniture. The NHS purchases toys for each child under 14, toiletries, blankets, cleaning supplies, and heaters for each family and delivers them to the classrooms. During the second week in December all of the classrooms load up 10 buses with the items for each family and the NHS delivers the items to the families. This will be our 32nd year of organizing this service project.
